Q: Error 680
message appears after dialing .
A: Connect the
phone cord to Line socket in the back of modem and
make sure you hear the dialing tone. To do this,
connect a telephone set to the Phone socket in the
back of the modem and make sure you hear the dialing
tone.
Q: Receiving Error 676 message, saying
The Line is Busy . and Error 629 and Error 678
continually .
A: Right-click on
connection in Dial-up Networking. Click on
Properties. to contact Tehran, in the General tab
the Use Area option in Code and Dialing Properties
must be inactive.

Panel → Modems → Dialing Properties
Choose Properties, then
Pulse Dial from Dial Using and click on OK.
Manually dial rotary
numbers of the company with your telephone set and
make sure the busy is not from the models of the
company.
Q: After dialing,
the computer is disconnected and Error 691 or Error
635 appears.
A: Make sure you
have correctly entered your ID and Password . ( Caps
Lock must be off . even typing a single apace can in
this problem. )
- Someone else may
have entered the networking using your User ID.
- The credit of
your card may have expired.
Q: After dialing
and connection, the User ID and password are
frequently asked but not accepted. By clicking on
cancel and getting disconnected, Error 635 message
appears, saying Unable to complete the connection .
A: Enter your User
ID and Password correctly and make sure no space bar
or incorrect key has been pressed.
- Your credit may
have been used completely. Contact the company to
make sure.
Q: Received
messages or error nos. 745, 650, 633 and 630 .
A: Restart your
computer. This may solve the problem.
- These errors may arise from improper
installation of the modem driver or a problem in the
modem. To test the modem , follow this path:
My
Computer → Control Panel → Modems
Select Diagnostics.
Select the Com port on which the modem has been
installed. Click on More Info. Then modem is tested
in a few seconds. If the properties of the modem are
shown, you will receive a message to choose your
modem from a list or to have windows install it. If
the problem is not solved, show your computer to a
hardware specialist.
Q: There are
repeated unwanted disconnection while connected to
the network.
A: There is no
direct way to solve this problem. Some modems do not
match properly with the telephone lines in Iran.
- Make sure there is no noise in your
internal telephone wiring.
- Lower the communication speed of
your modem as much as the problem is improved.
- Test the quality of your
communication with the same computer, from the same
line of telephone and other regions as well.
Q: Make sure the modem driver is
installed properly.
A: Click on
My
Computer → Control Panel →
System → Device Manager
icons. Click on
the +sign next to modem and make sure there is no
yellow ! sign or red * sign .
If there is no modem
name, yellow ! or red * , this means that windows
has not identified your modem driver.
Q: The sound of the modem is not heard
or is heard too loudly.
A: Follow this path

My Computer → Control
Panel → Modem →
Properties . Click on modem speaker volume and
adjust it as you like .
Q: Noting appears
on the screen after connecting to the Internet and
opening Internet Explorer.
A: Make sure the
web address has been typed correctly.
- Click on
My Computer → Control
Panel → Internet
. Select Connection . Make sure the proxy Server
square for Dorsa is inactive . Click on OK .
- Restart your computer and redial.
Q: Persian web
pages are not seen properly.
A: Download the
relevant Persian font in the Fonts sub-branch in the
windows directory.
- Open the intended
web page and click on the
View → Encoding , Fonts
or More menu. Find the phrase User Defined and click
on it.
Q: Your voice is
not heard in voice communication.
A: To have a voice communication, the
soundcard must have the Full-duplex property.
- Connect the
microphone cord to the Mic input of the soundcard (
not that oh the modem ) in the back of your
computer.
- Double-click on
the yellow speaker icon (
W )
next to
the computer clock. Turn up the Microphone volume
and make sure Mute is not checked.
- Test the
microphone and speakers by using the Sound Recorder
program.
Q: Receiving error
messages concerning Protocol and Adapter during
dialing.
A: Follow this path
: My Computer → Control Panel →
Network . In the configuration tab the following
three options must exist:
* Client
for Microsoft Network
*
Dial-up
Adapter
* TCP/IP
If any of the above does
not exist, insert the windows installation CD in the
CD drive of your computer. Install the needed items
as follows:
Client
for Microsoft Network: Click Add in Configuration.
Select Client. select Microsoft in the left-hand
side and Client for Microsoft Network in the
right-hand side. Click on OK.
Dial-up
Adapter: Click Add in Configuration. Select Adapter.
First select Microsoft in the left-hand side and
then Dial-up Adapter in the right-hand side. Click
on OK.
TCP/IP:
Click
Add in Configuration. Select Protocol. select
Microsoft in the left-hand side and TCP/IP in the
right-hand side. Click on OK.
